Unwanted e-mail, commonly known as spam, can clutter your inbox and expose your system to potential threats. Fortunately, cPanel offers robust spam filters powered by Apache SpamAssassin™ to help reduce the influx of unwanted emails. This guide will walk you through the steps to set up and configure spam filters effectively in cPanel.
Accessing the Spam Filters Section
To begin, you’ll need to navigate to the spam filters section in cPanel.
Step 1: Log In to cPanel
Home > Email > Spam Filters
First, log in to your cPanel account. Once logged in, navigate to the Email section and click on Spam Filters.
Enabling and Configuring Spam Filters
Once you have accessed the spam filters section, you can enable and customize the spam filters according to your needs.
Step 1: Enable Spam Filters

On the Spam Filters page, enable the option Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam to activate the spam filters.
Step 2: Configure Auto-Delete Settings (Optional)

Edit the whitelist to allow specific email addresses to bypass the spam filters. Edit the blacklist to block emails from known spammers.

If necessary, you can disable the spam filters temporarily by unchecking the Process New Emails and Mark them as Spam option.
