Duplicate Content
Duplicate content is the same text appearing at more than one web address, so a search engine picks one page to show and quietly ignores the rest.
Definição
Duplicate content means the same words appear at more than one web address, either inside your own site or across different sites. It is one of the most misunderstood ideas in search, and the worry around it is far bigger than the problem itself.
Start with the myth, because there is no duplicate content penalty and Google does not punish anyone for repeating themselves. What really happens is quieter and still costs money, because a search engine that finds several pages saying the same thing shows one and ignores the rest. If it picks the wrong one, your careful product page vanishes from the results and a print version takes its place. Nobody fined you, but you lost the page you cared about.
Three cases cause most of it in real businesses. The first is product variants, because a shirt in five colours becomes five pages with one word changed, and the search engine sees five near-identical pages. The second is the print page, or the copy someone made for a supplier, sitting at its own address with the same text on it. The third is the supplier description, because thousands of shops paste the manufacturer's paragraph into their listing. The same text then sits on a thousand sites and none of them stands out.
The fixes are ordinary and mostly cost time rather than money. Put the five colours on one page with a colour picker, then mark every copy with a canonical tag so the master version is named. After that, write three honest sentences of your own about who the product suits and what it does not do. That last one takes an afternoon, and it is the only fix your competitors will not copy.
Linkysoft usually finds this inside the systems clients already run, rather than in anything they wrote themselves. Storek keeps one address per product and hangs the colours and sizes off it, so variants never turn into separate pages. When a business needs something a ready-made shop platform cannot do, Linkysoft builds that same rule into the web application from the start. Doing it later is far harder, once thousands of pages already exist.
