WhatsApp Marketing

WhatsApp marketing is using WhatsApp to send customers real messages about their orders and bookings, under rules stricter than most owners expect.

Also known as WhatsApp Business WhatsApp messaging chat marketing

Definition

WhatsApp marketing means using WhatsApp to talk to customers about their orders, bookings and questions. It is not the same as posting on social media. Every message lands in a private chat, next to messages from the person's family, so the rules about what you may send are stricter than most owners expect.

There are two ways in. The free Business app runs on one phone and suits a small shop that answers by hand. The official connection, called the API, is paid and lets your own system send the messages without anyone typing them. A clinic uses it to send tomorrow's appointment time. A shop uses it to say the order left the warehouse. The text comes straight from your own records, at the right minute, with the name and the number already correct.

That second route changes who does the work. When Linkysoft connects a shop or a clinic to WhatsApp, each message is written once as a template and then sent by the system whenever the status changes. Nobody sits with a phone copying order numbers off a screen. This is ordinary web application work, and for a business that already has a system it is usually a matter of days.

The permission rules catch people out. You may only write to someone who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you. Anything that reads like an advert has to use wording WhatsApp approved beforehand. Send a burst of unwanted offers and the number gets reported, then limited, then blocked. Losing the number a thousand customers have saved in their phones is expensive, and getting it back is slow.

There is also a scam problem you inherit. Criminals copy real shops on WhatsApp with the same logo and a number one digit apart, then ask the buyer to pay into a different account. Get the account verified, print your real number on receipts and invoices, and tell customers plainly that you never change bank details in a chat. Linkysoft treats that as security work rather than marketing, because the loss lands on your name and not on the platform.

Questions about WhatsApp Marketing

Do I need permission before I message a customer?
Yes. You may only write to someone who gave you their number and agreed to hear from you. Messaging a bought list gets the number reported, then limited, then blocked.
What is the difference between the Business app and the API?
The app is free, runs on one phone and is answered by hand. The API is paid, connects to your own system and sends messages to many customers without anyone typing.
How much does WhatsApp marketing cost?
The Business app costs nothing. Through the official connection you pay for each message, and the price changes with the country and the kind of message. A plain order update is cheaper than an offer.
Can my own system send the messages automatically?
Yes, that is what the official connection is for. Your system sends the appointment time or the delivery status at the moment it changes, with the customer's name already in place.
How do customers know the account really belongs to my business?
Verify the business account so your name shows instead of a bare number, print that number on receipts and on your site, and tell customers you never change bank details in a chat.
